Greetings from Mrs. Cook, Assistant Principal

Diana Cook

Dear Burks Families and Students,

My name is Diana Cook and I am so excited to serve Burks Elementary School as your new Assistant Principal. I began my teaching career 24 years ago in Northern Illinois. I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes for ten years before my family and I decided to move to Cookeville, Tennessee. It was the best choice we ever made! For the past 14 years, I have taught 3rd and 4th grades at Baxter Elementary School, I have worked as an Interventionist, Enrichment Specialist and Instructional Coach at Northeast Elementary School, and most recently served as a District ELA Coach for third through fifth grade teachers. Words cannot express how excited I am to call Burks my new home!

My husband, John and I have been married for 24 years and have three beautiful children. Hannah, our oldest, is a nursing major who is attending Southern Adventist University where she will finish up her senior year this fall. Our two boys, Noah and Matthew, attend Monterey High School.  Noah, a soon to be senior, plays in the high school band and Matthew, a sophomore, enjoys soccer and other various sports. We also have a rescue dog named Piper who is spoiled rotten! We love to spend time together exploring nearby caves, playing family games and spending time with our church family.

I am eager to meet all of you and am excited at the opportunity to get to know you better. I am so proud to be a “Panther”!
